Ronald "Ron" Branstetter, a self-proclaimed “boomer,” launched the Unicorn Fart Dust [UFD] memecoin as a joke via Pump.fun. The 54-year-old gold, silver, and stock enthusiast kickstarted his crypto journey with just a $100 investment, and now the token is currently worth over $240 million.

Rewinding a little
Ron is a YouTuber who creates videos on TradFi assets. He also works in school simultaneously.
In one of his YouTube videos, he underlined his cynicism w.r.t. crypto. He felt this asset class’s bubble would end up bursting soon. Mind you, this was the time when Fartcoin was slowly shooting up in price and grasping the mainstream limelight. Ron specifically made UFD to prove his point.
Elaborating on his crypto background in a recent free-wheeling conversation, he said,
“I was very skeptical of crypto for many years. My position had started to soften a little bit over the last year. But prior to me creating UFD, I’d never owned a crypto in my life. I didn’t know what a crypto wallet was. I didn’t know you needed a wallet to get crypto.”
The birth of Unicorn Fart Dust
Ron watched a tutorial video online chalking out the process to create a memecoin on Pump.fun. When he realized the minimum deposit was $100, he started questioning the legitimacy and was on the verge of backing off. He funded his wallet via MoonPay, indulged in other daily livestream-related tasks, and forgot about UFD.
The next day, he started receiving emails from community members highlighting the soaring market cap. When he checked it by himself, he felt, “Oh my Gosh, it’s real.”
“I didn’t do that [push up the token’s valuation]. I created it. I really had no idea what I was doing. It was from the very beginning, like a community takeover of the whole thing. It’s been a great ride so far on many levels.”
He then called his wife — who was busy decorating the Christmas tree at the time — to tell her the unbelievable.
“She didn’t believe me, I didn’t believe it. The first night was a state of shock… It’s almost like I had an unexpected baby.”
Ron’s “horn” is pointed towards the sky
Ron did cash out initially, but called it a blunder. He elaborated,
“I wish I hadn’t done this, obviously, but I did sell on just the first night — like half of the coins. If I’d have held them, it would have been a much smarter investment decision.”
The UFD creator owns the remaining coins and intends to continue holding them. Even though it is life-changing money to him and his family, he has already told his folks that he’s not going to sell the remainder of his stash.
Ron doesn’t want to “hurt” other holders. In the freewheeling conversation, he revealed that he’s started feeling a “real tangible connection” with the crypto community. He says, “They’ve proven to me who they are.”
UFD is Ron’s maiden foray into the crypto industry. He doesn’t plan on experimenting with other assets. He feels “a huge responsibility” towards the community and wants to remain committed to them. In his words,
“I will remain laser-focused on UFD. My horn is pointed towards the sky and for right now that’s more than what I can handle.”
Ron is currently “grinding it out” with a top-tier documentary production team to reveal more about his journey. According to him, it was “crazy” having so many people in the basement, lights, and all types of equipment set up. He assured that he represented every UFD Community member the best he could.
