Crypto exchange Crypto.com has partnered with Standard Chartered Bank to offer customers options for global fiat services in USD, euro, and UAE dirham.
Users in over 90 countries can deposit and withdraw fiat via the Crypto.com app. According to the official announcement, the launch will be rolled out next month to customers across the UAE.
After that, the exchange will “progressively expand” the service to retail customers across the globe.
Commenting on the latest development, Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com said,
“Being able to offer our global customers effortless fiat deposit and withdrawal capabilities is key to increasing adoption and reaching our vision of crypto in every wallet.”
In another recent development, Crypto.com bagged a multi-year partnership deal with the UEFA Champions League, making the exchange the “first and exclusive” global crypto platform partner.
Via the deal, the exchange is looking to bolster fan engagement around football and crypto assets. The official global sponsorship will also include in-stadium activations, broadcast integrations, and innovative advertising campaigns, among other initiatives.
Meanwhile, Standard Chartered has also been spending time in the crypto trenches. In June it revealed that it is establishing a spot trading desk for buying and selling BTC and ETH. The new London-based desk will commence operations soon and be part of the bank's FX trading unit.
Executives have time and again highlighted that they have been working closely with regulators to cater to crypto demand from their institutional clients.
The bank is also a backer of crypto asset custodian Zodia Custody and its exchange arm Zodia Markets. Its long-term strategy revolves around further bolstering access, custody, tokenization, and interoperability.
