Donald Trump seems to be all set to become the President of the United States once again.
Current State of Affairs
As of press time, Trump's party had managed to secure 267 electoral votes, while his blue adversary was trailing at 214.
Even though the counting hasn't wound up yet, the Decision Desk HQ has declared Trump as the official winner.
Trump is headed to Palm Beach to address his supporters. Elon Musk is expected to spend the night with him.
Meanwhile, Kamala Harris — who was all set to speak at her alma mater Howard University tonight — has backed off, triggering the ones gathered to flee en masse.
The Trump Pump
With the pendulum swinging in Trump’s favor, the crypto market has been pumping. Over the past day, the aggregate market cap has registered a 10.7% jump to re-claim $2.5 trillion.
Bitcoin went on to clinch a new all-time high of $75,000, while assets like Solana and Uniswap were up by 15% and 30% respectively on the daily window.
Meme coins also honored the rising tide. Dogecoin was up 24% at press time, while Popcat and Dogwifhat were up 20% each.
Shorts were being liquidated left-right-center. Over the past 12-hours, positions worth $300 million had been wiped out.
Pro-Crypto Candidates on the Front Line
Pre-elections, Trump made it evident that if he’s voted back to power, he’d make sure that enforcement by regulation would cease and pro-crypto laws would be passed.
He also wished Bitcoiners on the 16th anniversary of Satoshi’s white paper and pledged to end Harris' war on crypto.
America now has the most pro-crypto Congress ever. Over 219 pro-crypto candidates have been elected to the House and Senate so far.
Coinbase’s Brian Armstrong said,
“Tonight the crypto voter has spoken decisively - across party lines and in key races across the country. Americans disproportionately care about crypto and want clear rules of the road for digital assets.”
Fair and Square Victory
Wishes have already started pouring in for Trump. Entrepreneurs and leaders including Mark Cuban, Robert Kennedy Jr., and Nayib Bukele were amongst the first ones to congratulate Trump on his historic victory.
Meanwhile, tech billionaire and pro-Trump echo Chamber Elon Musk affirmed,
“America is a nation of builders. Soon, you will be free to build.”
