‘AI knowledge base charity’ is the latest buzzphrase doing the rounds on Crypto Twitter [CT] at the moment, and we’re here to tell you why.
Background
- Society Library is a non-profit organization
- It uses AI to power decentralized governance tech and truth-seeking agents
- Hedge fund DAO ai16z was created by Pmairca — an AI agent brought to life by developer Shaw
- Along with Pmairca, Shaw also put to sea AI agent Degenspartanai,
- The agent takes inspiration from Truth Terminal
- However, instead of ranting, it tweets similar to the anonymous Twitter account Degen Spartan
- Shaw is a long-time volunteer and supporter of Society Library
- He has helped build a lot of the charity’s AI tools
Details
- A day back, Shaw announced that he is looking to try “an experiment in generosity”
- He donated about $15k of his DegenAI and ai16z
- He affixed the wallet address in an attempt to make sure they get the attention they deserve
Why should you pay attention?
- Jamie Joyce, the Executive Director of Society Library revealed on X that the charity was gifted 500 million SL tokens
- That represents half the supply of the newly created tokens
- The organization has not been able to trace down who the anonymous donor is
- According to Joyce, it ain’t Shaw
- Over the past few hours, the charity has been evaluating the most optimal burning and locking strategy
Who said what?
- Commenting on the asset, Joyce said,
“We did not create this coin. We are incredibly surprised by it. We are holding”
- Elaborating on the other airdropped tokens, she said,
“Last night our wallet was flooded by Solana, DuckAI, Tubby Cats, Fabric of Reality, Doge, Hehe, YGG, Eliza, Capricorn, and many many others”
- Chalking out how the details with respect to the price, she added,
“That particular coin drastically rose in value. I literally could not believe the numbers that I was looking at. The amount of money that we had in our wallet at peak times was enough to fully fund us at our maximum ideal budget for two years”
- She went on to assure,
"Despite seeing those numbers we did not sell. We do not intend to. We’re embracing this as a potential community coin"

- With respect to the future corse of action, the executive re-asserted that Society Library is a charity
- In her words, “We’re quite literally quintessentially not in the business of making money. We’re in the business of making a positive impact”
