Web3 giant Animoca Brands is planning to go public in the second half of next year. It is reportedly considering crypto-friendly jurisdictions like Hong Kong and the Middle East for its potential listing.

Several companies have been flocking to the Middle East of late. As reported this week, Hashed is one of the latest crypto investment firms that spread its wings to Abu Dhabi by tying up with the region’s global tech incubator Hub71.

The firm is looking to open up an office in the region and parallelly scout fundraising opportunities. Hashed looks after around $700 million in assets.

Animoca’s Co-founder Yat Siu revealed that he and his team have been in talks with investment banks. However, an advisor has not yet been hired.

Here, it is worth noting that the company was previously listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. However, owing to non-compliance of listing rules, they were delisted.

Animoca is headquartered in Hong Kong. It has offices and subsidiaries spread over a host of countries. The firm is known for its investments in NFTs, Web3, and crypto gaming companies.

It has a bunch of prominent names featuring on its portfolio, including The Sandbox, The TON Network, and Axie Infinity.

In the beginning of this month, Galaxy Digital rolled out a multi-million dollar loan to Siu after tokenizing his $9 million worth antique violin originally belonging to Russian Empress Catherine the Great.

The original violin and the tokenized NFT version will both be held as collateral by Galaxy Digital against the loan handed out. Siu intends to use the fund proceeds to invest in new crypto-related projects or art.

Going forward, he is also looking to allow others to buy fractions of the tokenized violin. However, as reported, there is no concrete plan or agreement in motion at the moment.
