Vana Launches Mobile App With VanaXP Rewards for Data Ownership

The conversation around data ownership is shifting, and blockchain project Vana wants to push it further with the launch of its new mobile app.

Announced on September 15, the Vana App gives users a way to manage and control their personal data while opening up opportunities to earn rewards through its companion program, VanaXP.

A gateway to data ownership

Available on iOS and Android, the Vana App allows users to connect data streams from platforms such as Spotify, Telegram, or even ChatGPT to build what the project calls a VIBE, a digital fingerprint reflecting one’s preferences, behavior, and online footprint.

Unlike traditional apps that monetize user data behind closed doors, Vana positions VIBE as a personal, programmable asset that users can decide how to share or contribute.

That contribution often takes the form of participation in DataDAOs, or community-owned data collectives.

These groups pool data voluntarily provided by members to train artificial intelligence systems in ways that are more diverse and representative.

In practice, it means that someone’s listening habits, search patterns, or usage behavior could fuel AI development while the user retains both control and the ability to opt in or out.

The app doesn’t stop at data aggregation.

It also introduces Vana Vibe Apps, companion tools that transform user data into interactive experiences.

These might include real-time insights, creative visualizations, or other ways of making abstract data more tangible and personal.

VanaXP: a system for recognition and rewards

Alongside the app, the project rolled out VanaXP, a rewards and reputation framework that grows with participation.

Connecting verified data sources strengthens a user’s VIBE and increases XP, while contributing to DataDAOs or engaging with regional partner communities, such as Vana Korea or Vana Turkey, provides further earning opportunities.

Accumulated XP unlocks perks that go beyond numbers on a leaderboard. According to Vana, users can gain early access to new app features, priority in DataDAO reward distributions, and future opportunities in staking or token launches.

XP also acts as a “proof of humanity” signal, giving weight to community governance and voting mechanisms within the ecosystem.

The app is currently invite-only, with early access available through community codes or a waitlist at vana.org/app. For now, the emphasis is on building a trusted network of participants rather than immediate scale.

As more users join, Vana envisions a growing ecosystem where individuals own their data and collectively influence how it shapes the future of AI.
