Monad Airdrop Goes Live: Here's Everything We Know So Far

October 14, 2025
According to Monad’s announcement, over 230,000 users are eligible to participate across five categories: community members, onchain power users

The Monad Foundation has officially opened claims for its highly anticipated MON airdrop, marking a major step toward the project’s mainnet debut.

The claim portal, which went live on Tuesday, will remain open for three weeks, allowing eligible users to verify their wallets and reserve allocations ahead of the token’s full distribution.

According to Monad’s announcement, over 230,000 users are eligible to participate across five categories: community members, onchain power users, general crypto participants, contributors, and builders.

Eligibility spans users of major DeFi protocols like Aave, Curve, Morpho, Pendle, Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Hyperliquid, and Pump.fun, as well as holders of notable NFTs including CryptoPunks, Pudgy Penguins, Mad Lads, and Milady Maker.

How the claim process works

The current phase only verifies eligibility, tokens will not yet be transferable until Monad’s mainnet launch, which the team says will be announced after the claim window closes on November 3.

Monad co-founder Keone Hon explained on X that the process uses Privy authentication, allowing users to prove wallet ownership through signed messages from EVM or Solana addresses and link optional social accounts such as Twitter, Discord, or Telegram.

“Only sign messages that you’ve reviewed carefully,” Hon cautioned, reminding users to avoid impersonator sites.

Head of Growth at Monad added that once users complete their claim setup, no further action is needed: “Open your wallet on Monad mainnet launch day, and you’ll have your MON there.” An optional early reveal event for airdrop amounts is set for October 28.

Ahead of the claim window, the MON perpetual market on Hyperliquid traded around $0.069, implying a $6.9 billion fully diluted valuation and about $4.7 million in daily trading volume.

A step toward Monad mainnet

Monad’s mainnet, expected by the end of 2025, aims to deliver a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).

Built with a pipelined execution architecture, Monad says its network can process up to 10,000 transactions per second with one-second block times, a significant leap in scalability.

At launch, Monad will integrate with major apps including Uniswap, Magic Eden, and OpenSea, and support popular wallets such as Phantom, MetaMask, and Rabby. The MON token will also serve dual purposes: paying carriage fees for transaction inclusion and execution costs within blocks.
