US presidential election contender Donald Trump is looking to release another NFT collection. In a recent interview, he pointed out that his previous launches were all successful and added,
“We had one year to sell it out and it sold out in one day. The whole thing sold out: 45,000 of the cards. And I did it three times.”
Trump hinted at the launch of another NFT collection in May to NFT holders who had gathered at his Mar-a-Lago residence in May. He stressed on the importance of supply and demand while underlining how “one did great, two did great, three did great.”
With respect to the upcoming launch, he now said,
“I’m going to do another one, because the people want me to do another one. It's [an] unbelievable spirit. Beautiful.”
Here it is worth recalling that Trump had once associated the phrases “fraud” and “a disaster waiting to happen” with crypto. However, with time, his perception has changed.
His campaign started accepting donations in crypto recently. As of the end of last month, his supporters donated $1.8 million worth of BTC and $900,000 worth of ETH. Other cryptos like DOGE and SHIB were also sent to the presidential contender, bringing the total crypto tally to $3 million.
His vice presidential running mate JD Vance is also pro-crypto. As recently reported by blocmates, he owns between $100,001 and $250,000 in BTC.
Trump does not want any other country to lead innovation on this front and wants to focus on strengthening in-house companies. If America does not do it, other countries would walk away with the crown, according to the Republican contender.
In the latest interview, Trump emphasized that the crypto industry in the US has a good foundation. He asserted, “It’s a baby. It’s an infant right now,” and added,
“I don’t want to be responsible for allowing another country to take over this sphere. And so I think we’re going to be good.”
