BitGo’s Chief Executive Officer, Mike Belshe, recently unveiled that he will host a fundraiser for Trump’s campaign at a dinner reception today, July 29, in Palo Alto, California. The event will feature Trump’s running mate, JD Vance.
A recent report pointed out,
“Belshe is asking attendees to pay $3,300 to attend the reception, $15,000 per photo with Vance and $25,000 to participate in a roundtable. For $50,000 couples can join the host committee for the event.”
Crypto community members doubled down their support for presidential election contender Donald Trump after his weekend speech at the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville.
The audience’s excitement peaked when the Republican nominee declared that he would fire Gary Gensler, the current SEC chair, on his first day. The crowd cheered and chants of “Trump” flooded the venue.
Alongside, he affirmed that he would keep all BTC that the US government currently holds as a “national Bitcoin stockpile.”
Belshe donated Bitcoin worth $50,000 to Trump in June. Alongside, crypto exchange Kraken’s Co-founder Jesse Powell poured in $1 million worth of funds — mostly denominated in Ether — to the presidential contender's campaign.
Gemini’s Winklevoss twins also donated around $1 million each to Trump. A part of it, however, was returned to adhere to donation compliance limits.
The Republican nominee has amassed more than $4 million in Bitcoin-Ether and other crypto assets including XRP and USDC. A Federal Election Commission filing pointed out that donors have also sent him various meme coins.
Ohio US Senator JD Vance — who is all set to be Trump’s to be right-arm — is also pro-crypto. As recently reported by blocmates, he holds a substantial amount of Bitcoin on crypto exchange Coinbase. According to his latest federal financial disclosure, he owns between $100,001 and $200,000 in BTC.
